A fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport — building bike handling skills and confidence, one Saturday at a time.
HCC is a Go Ride club, and our coaching sessions give young riders a fun and safe way to get into cycle sport. The sessions are built around bike handling skills — but first and foremost, they're about having fun.
Everyone takes part as one group, working on the same core skills regardless of ability. Alongside the general skills work, we also introduce more advanced techniques from Cyclocross and Road Racing for riders ready for the next step.
Held at Holmfirth High School (top car park). We occasionally run sessions at circuits instead, along with ad-hoc kids' rides and visits to a BMX track — these replace the usual session when they're on.
Young riders need to be able to ride a bike unaided to join a session. As sessions are held on grass, any bike used will need knobbly tyres.
Your first session at Holmfirth High School is free. To keep coming after that, your child will need to join Holmfirth Cycling Club as a junior member — £5.00 per year.
Get in touch with our Club Coach and bring your young rider along for a free taster session.
